As the hurricane past by the coast of SWFL it seemed to pick up the red tide and take it with it,. Our inshore and nearshore waters of Boca Grande tested negative for the first time in months. Bait has been returning inshore for quite some time, our first cold front of the season had the fish fired up this weekend.
We caught plenty of snook, largest one being around 30 inches. They are active and healthy, attacking the bait and peeling drag. Making them a blast on light tackle. Looking for some fast food? We also brought home some HUGE mangrove snapper.
While our fishery will take awhile to get back to "normal" we are thrilled to see improvement in our local waters!
