Mixing it up Inshore

We set out with the Grindle clan plus one. Friend Mike, they wanted to hook him up on a Goliath grouper. Conditions have been sporting, we started out the day inshore catching a pile of bait for this grouper adventure. Jack crevelle aka "canal tuna" great action on a top water lure, and spunky enough on the end of a BIG hook to entise a hungry grouper to take a shot at an easy meal. While hanging inshore, we found some structure holding fish. Hooking up to plenty of sheepshead. These fish are great eating and a fun pull on the end of your line. They hang out around docks, concrete walls ect. They feed on barnacles and weren't resisting a live shrimp on a jig head during this trip!

We also got into some redfish and mangrove snapper using the same set up. The redfish were undersized so we decided to tag and release them for Grey Fish Tag Research. Danny & Steve got to name, measure and report their tagged fish. Hopefully they are recaptured later in life, this data helps scientists learn about the species migration pattern. Helping to safe guard areas in need. Mike hooked up today too, on a goliath grouper who gave into our game of tug o war.

Bait: Live shrimp, Jack crevelle

Tackle : Jigheads, 1/0-3/0 circle hooks, topwater lure, 20/0 circle hook
